Our “History Alive” lecture series begun in 1978 and now in its 43rd season, brings county-wide audiences to Lemon Grove to experience performances and lectures that further lifelong learning and cultural enrichment. This free series of ten or more lectures annually features historical, cultural, industrial and scientific experts in informal settings where interaction with audiences truly makes history come alive

Funding for the series supports professional videotaping of each lecture. DVDs are stored for scholarly reference and are available for sale at modest cost in support of the Lemon Grove Historical Society. See our Programs page for upcoming lectures.

Videotaping our “History Alive” lectures is underwritten by a Community Enhancement Grant from the San Diego County Board of Supervisors.  Ancillary costs of the series are underwritten in part by the Mary England Endowment for Education.
